Rev. Fr. Jason Vidrine

Fr. Vidrine was appointed Pastor of St. Martin de Tours in July 2021. He is a native of Ville Platte, LA. He was ordained a Deacon at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome on October 6, 2005 and then a Priest for the Diocese of Lafayette, LA, on July 8, 2006. Fr. Vidrine entered the seminary in 1998 after graduating high school, completing a B.A. in Arts and Philosophy from St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington, LA in 2002. Following college seminary, he was sent to Rome for theological formation at the Pontifical North American College and earned an S.T.B. and M.A. in Dogmatic Theology at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum). Fr. Vidrine’s various priestly assignments have included: Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Wisdom Church and Catholic Student Center on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (2006-2008), Parochial Vicar of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Scott (2008-2009), Pastor of St. Peter Church in Gueydan and Principal of St. Peter School (2009-2014), Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Joseph Churches in Ville Platte (2014-2015), Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Krotz Springs (2015-2017), and Pastor at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Crowley (2017-2021). He has also served as a Professor of Mariology for the Aquinas Institute of Theology in the Diocese of Lafayette, Professor of Spiritual Theology for the Diaconate Formation Program of the Diocese of Lafayette, Spiritual Director of Our Lady of Grace Comitium of the Legion of Mary in the Diocese of Lafayette and Assistant Master of Ceremonies for the Diocese of Lafayette. Fr. Vidrine enjoys history, reading, genealogy, cooking, and travel.
