Deacon Joshua LeBlanc
Deacon LeBlanc was appointed to serve at St. Martin de Tours Church in February 2022. He is a native of Cow Island, the son of Steven LeBlanc and Rebecca Chauvin LeBlanc. After graduating from Kaplan High School in 1998, he entered seminary formation for the Diocese of Lafayette at St. Joseph Seminary College in Covington. He graduated with a B.A. in Arts in Philosophy in May 2002, and decided to discontinue seminary formation for the Priesthood.
On June 27, 2003, he married Annie Mire. Shortly after, they moved to Front Royal, VA, where he worked as the IT Manager of Human Life International from April 2004 to August 2005. They moved back to Louisiana and settled in Abbeville. He worked as the Religion Administrator of Carencro Catholic School from August 2005 to June 2006. He then worked as the IT Manager of the Vermilion Parish Library in Abbeville from June 2006 to May 2010.
In October 2009, Deacon LeBlanc founded and opened Bayouland Computer Solutions in Abbeville, which he has owned and operated since. He entered the Diaconate Formation Program of the Diocese of Lafayette in 2012 and was ordained to the Diaconate on May 21, 2016. His first assignment as Deacon was at St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove, where he served from 2016 to 2020. He was then appointed to serve as Deacon at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Crowley, LA in April 2020, where he served until February 2022.
In September 2017, he was invested into the ancient Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem, which focuses on help for the poor, the sick and the dying. He serves as Chaplain and Cadre Leader for the Lafayette Cadre of it. On November 16, 2018, Deacon LeBlanc and his wife Annie along with another business partner opened Chesterton’s Fine Cigars in Youngsville, LA.
Deacon LeBlanc holds a Master’s Degree in Moral Theology from Holy Apostles College in Cromwell, CT. He also serves as the Chaplain of the Youngsville and Abbeville Police Departments, Professor of the Aqinuas Institute of Theology in the Diocese of Lafayette and as assistant Master of Ceremonies of the Diocese of Lafayette.
